How We Teach

Instruction is built around relatable, practical examples drawn from everyday technology students already recognize — phones, apps, games, social media, and devices they share at home or school. Abstract ideas are introduced only after students can connect them to something familiar, allowing curiosity to lead rather than technical depth or career framing.

The examples below illustrate the kinds of concepts introduced — not the depth or pace at which they are taught.

The Model

3–5 day bootcamps, designed for real communities

A compact format designed to deliver meaningful exposure without requiring long-term commitments from participants, partners, or volunteers.

Every program follows the same core model: short-format bootcamps designed to be delivered on-site at partner locations — schools, community centers, libraries, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations. Each bootcamp is volunteer-led, curriculum-driven, and designed to be completed in 3–5 sessions.

Each session is planned for 2–3 hours and is built around interactive, hands-on learning. The approach is not to lecture at young people — but to work alongside them. Activities, discussions, group exercises, and real-world scenarios are designed to keep participants engaged and give them something tangible to walk away with after every session.

Key Principle

We meet learners where they are. There are no prerequisites, no entrance requirements, and no assumptions about prior knowledge. Our programs are being designed for youth with zero prior technology exposure — and built to make them feel welcome from the first minute.

Program

AI Foundations

Understanding AI before it understands you.

The AI Foundations bootcamp is being developed with an ethics-first approach to artificial intelligence education. Participants will learn what AI actually is, how it works at a basic level, where it appears in their daily lives, and — most importantly — the questions they should be asking about it. This is not about building AI systems. It is about building informed, critical thinkers who understand the technology shaping their world.

  • What AI is and is not
  • How AI learns from data
  • Where AI appears in daily life
  • Ethical questions around bias and fairness
  • Privacy and personal data
  • Making informed decisions about AI tools

Program

Cybersecurity Foundations

Staying safe in a connected world.

The Cybersecurity Foundations bootcamp is being developed with a focus on practical digital safety — the kind every young person needs regardless of whether they pursue a career in technology. With a real-world focus, participants will learn to recognize threats, protect their accounts and personal information, and understand what cybersecurity professionals actually do. Sessions will include hands-on exercises and scenarios drawn from situations young people encounter every day.

  • What cybersecurity means and why it matters
  • Common threats: phishing, social engineering, malware
  • Password hygiene and account security
  • Privacy and digital footprint
  • Introduction to cybersecurity careers
  • Hands-on exercises and scenarios
